Scope & Estimate
The process for commissioning a piece is a direct collaboration between you and I. This starts with a brief discussion to get an idea of your initial vision, style preference, and rough dimensions of the piece. If you have a price range in mind, I can incorporate it into the design scope, otherwise, I will provide an initial scope and a rough price range based on an array of materials / details to choose from. Once we’ve agreed upon the initial design scope and a price range estimate we can move forward with full designs.
Design & Deposit
After the initial scope and estimate is complete, the design process begins. We will continue the collaborative dialogue to refine details, material preferences and establish a project timeline. Depending on the complexity of the piece, developing 3-D renderings can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. For more complex projects, I will be clear when designs might take longer than usual or when renderings might not be possible. At your request, I can also schedule onsite visits to determine exact dimensions and to incorporate the design aesthetic of your current space.
As these designs take time and effort to put together, I do request a non-refundable design fee before starting this stage of the process. Note, this deposit will be applied against the overall project cost at completion.
Once the design is finalized and we are moving forward with construction, I will provide an official project invoice and estimated delivery time. A signed quote and a 50% deposit is needed to begin building.
Build & Deliver
Time to get building!
If design changes arise at your request after the project has begun, I will do my best to incorporate these changes. If there are any additional costs, I will provide a change order with cost adjustments for your review and signature before moving forward with any changes. Only after your custom piece is completed and delivered to your satisfaction will I collect the remaining invoice balance.
My hope is that this piece will become a cherished item in your household and last your family generations.
